Bicycle

Today I went to Great Harvest Bread and bought some cinnamon raisin walnut bread and some pumpkin butter. Next time I am going to try the cinnamon chip bread. Adam and I have agreed that we have overdone the chocolate lately, and this is my fallback food.

One of the good things about Great Harvest Bread is that they give you huge samples. As I sat there eating a large sample piece of cinnamon swirl, I noticed an unusual bicycle parked outside.

It is the bicycle equivalent of a stretch limousine. I thought it was something a store owner had placed on the sidewalk simply to gather attention.

I went outside for a closer inspection. As I sat my bread on a bench, the woman sitting there with her child told me it is her bicycle. It was made in the Netherlands, which is her homeland. She places her child and groceries in the cargo area and pedals about Evanston.

As I watched, she loaded up and headed along the sidewalk, missing every pedestrian. Amazing.
