The Evanston beach on Lake Michigan is quite lengthy and is bordered by parks with trails for running and biking. The area is very popular after work on summer days.
Most people come to enjoy the sun, sand and water during the brief summer season. There are some watercraft available for rental.
We still have no air conditioning. After dinner we walked into town. I treated Hayley to a frozen yogurt at Red Mango. Adam declined since there was no chocolate yogurt or topping.
Then they went to the opening night of the new (second) Transformers movie. Adam has been a major Transformers fan for years. According to their after-movie review, they were treated to two and a half hours of explosions.
Rather than attend my first movie of 2009, I went to the beach and waded in the water to see what it is like. With no Gulf Stream, the water temperature is about 60 degrees. It was very refreshing on a hot day.
